- Corry (Cornelia) Fuchs Quilt Patchwork
Cornelia Almuth or Corry Fuchs enjoys exploring the broad range between tradition and modernism in patchwork art. The multiple technical possibilities enable her width of representation from classical style to free abstraction. She exhibits on her own and participates in events in Germany and abroad.
Cornelia (Corry) Fuchs was born and grew up in Northern Germany. In her parent's home she had early introduction to music. However, at first Cornelia went to study physiotherapy at Goettingen
. After her degree she worked as physiotherapist for some years until marriage. Raising three children kept her occupied for a while. As soon as time allowed she went to study church-music at Heidelberg conservatory and got her degree as choir leader and organist in 1980. In this field she is still active in the Protestant church
.
In 1985 Cornelia was introduced to the basics of patchwork and quilting at the Australian National University in Canberra
while accompanying her husband, Professor Dr. Karl Fuchs, on his sabbatical in Geophysics. She was fascinated by the vast possibilities of expressing geometrical patterns
. Starting from traditional patterns
she amplified her knowledge in style and technique continuously in the following years with the artists Diana Leone, Penny Nii, Libby Lehmann, Joen Wolfrom
and others during various visits to the USA.

Cornelia (Corry) Fuchs
